Boys’ Home, Covington, VA

Boys’ Home was founded in 1906 by Rev. George Floyd Rogers as a “call from the mountains” to meet the needs of disadvantaged children. Today, Boys’ Home’s child care division has three units: the Intake and Evaluation program, the Independent Living Skills program, and the Experiential Living Apartment. Boys’ Home is responsible not only for the basic necessities of food, clothing, and shelter for their young men, but is also entrusted with the responsibility of molding the character of each resident. The ultimate priority is to instill basic principles of honestly, loyalty, courtesy, love, kindness, religion, and education into the life of each child.
